The company provides customized engineered devices that protect people, products and/or equipment from contamination or exposure to hazardous elements. Based in Ottawa, DFMZ was born from the 2015 merger of two leading companies in their field: Microzone (acquired by Canerector in 2000) and Design Filtration Inc. (2014). With a combined experience of nearly 50 years, DFMZ offers a variety of standard products and custom services such as laboratory hoods, air showers, automation enclosures and cleanrooms.

 

What are we looking for?

 

Our growing business is in need of a Business Development Manager to increase sales globally. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, maintaining relationships with existing clients and following up on potential leads. In this position you will mainly be responsible for developing sales strategies including monitoring industry trends in order to increase revenue streams by identifying emerging markets in the cleanroom, biosafety and biopharmaceutical spaces. This role will also be responsible for aiding in the development of marketing strategies and assisting in execution of those strategies.

 

To ensure success as a Business Development Manager, you should have a strong business acumen for driving new business development while growing our current book of business. Being able to create strategies that align with modern trends and a passion for sales will be instrumental in being successful in this role. Ultimately, you will boost sales and contribute to our long-term growth.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop a sales strategy in coordination with the management team with a focus on new business development

  • Utilize all available resources in lead generation (cold calling, conferences, site visits) in order to reach potential clients and turn those prospects into customers

  • Work with the management team to develop marketing strategies in order to increase brand awareness and our market presence.

  • Attend customer sites, trades shows and training sessions in order to grow our current business and enhance our presence in the market.

  • Maintain company client database while identifying opportunities of growth with new and existing customers

 

Qualifications

 

  • Education: Bachelors Degree

  • Bilingualism is an asset, but not essential

  • 3-5 years B2B sales experience  

  • Experience: You have at least 3-5 years of experience in outside sales and/or business development

Location

 

DFMZ is based in Ottawa, ON. Travel could be required ~50% of the time dependant on public health advisories.
