DFMZ’s automation enclosures meet NSF and Health Canada Biosafety standards for Class II air flows offering personnel, product (ISO-5) & environmental protection when working with low to moderate risk biological agents.  

Class II Automation Enclosures are appropriate for handling research materials that are vulnerable to airborne contamination. These enclosures provide minimum ISO 5 conditions within the work zone. The inward air flow from the laboratory is filtered from microbial contaminants into the enclosure through HEPA filters which provide minimum 99.99% efficiency at 0.3 microns.

These enclosures provide operator protection via front openings with carefully maintained continuous inward airflow. Product protection is also achieved through HEPA-filtered, vertical, unidirectional airflow within the work area.

  • DFMZ Wall System is constructed with clear anodized aluminum framework, manual access swing doors with latch hardware and closers. Doors and walls are equipped with clear acrylic and/ or white polypropylene inserts in both upper and lower sections.

  • Ceiling grid system constructed with heavy-duty anodized aluminum T-Bar grid to support fan filter modules.

  • DFMZ Design-Aire Model DA-4 HEPA Fan Filter Modules (FFM) to provide up to 500 CFM of HEPA filtered supply air per module. Power: 120 VAC, 2.6 amps, 60 Hz.

  • DFMZ Design-Aire Model DA-2 HEPA Fan Filter Modules (FFM) to provide up to 350 CFM of HEPA filtered exhaust air per module. Power: 120 VAC, 2.6 amps, 60 Hz.

  •  DFMZ seam welded corrosion resistant polypropylene construction comprises the head, base and interior liner of the enclosure. Head section comes complete with reinforcing ribs. In addition to removeable front panel for easy access to HEPA filters maintenance.  

  • Heavy duty swinging double door constructed from aluminum extrusion and filler panels, stainless steel rear-mounted plenums, and clear acrylic front access sash windows for equipment access or cytomat loading.
